Description: Up for your consideration is this Cam Spring Repair Kit for 1958 to 1970 vintage Zippo lighters. Use this new spring, brass eyelet and brass rivet to repair the weak or broken cam spring in your vintage Zippo lighter. This is the exact same shape and size of the original Zippo spring and is the best spring available for restoring your vintage Zippo lighter. It's also made of high carbon spring steel like the original... unlike some other springs that are available which are made from low carbon softer steel which will not perform properly. Using the correct spring preserves the value of your collectible lighter. Installing an improperly shaped replacement spring will reduce the value of the lighter. The kit includes one straight cam spring, one brass eyelet that holds the cam spring in place, and instructions for replacing the cam spring without removing the cam. It is possible to replace the cam spring without removing the cam but the procedure will require a good eyelet setting tool. Otherwise you will need to remove the cam and cam rivet to replace the cam spring. I do also sell a properly designed eyelet setting tool so please see my other listings if you are interested. The spring measures about 13/16" long and is a reproduction of the original in size and shape. This spring style was used from 1958 to 1970. I believe the Zippo company calls the spring a Cover Stop Bar Spring but it is commonly known as a cam spring. Also please ask any questions you may have and I'll do my best to answer.
