Nan hand painted basket purse made for "The La Viers". Perhaps a boutique, but I can not say where this boutique was located. "The La Viers" is inscribed on the backside of the hinged lid, along with the genuine Caro. Nan signature The top rim of this purse has a leather trim. There is a floral design- two daisies, a bottle of wine- maybe, and the words Elegance, Togetherness, Fancy, and Discover. The buildings depicted are adorable. However, names of the establishments have worn off The happy penny is still present, a 1978 Lincoln head. Of course, this purse was well loved and well used, but still with lots of life left. There is obvious wear in various places. But my goodness, this basket purse oozes with vintage charm! Condition issues; There are a few broken weaves, but this does not compromise the sturdiness and integrity of this purse. While the red floral liner has been CLEANED, there is a persistent ink stain, though not horrible.The felt on he bottom is worn off near the corners. SEE PHOTOS! Overall, it is a fun, vintage, historical accessory with lots of life left! Surely, a conversation piece!
