Description: Very Large 27” x 40” Framed Antique Victorian Print ACCEPTED, (London 1867). This wonderful print on thick parchment was from an engraving by Fredrick Stacpoole of the Thomas Faed painting Lady Writing a Letter. Entitled ACCEPTED “I take this opportunity”, the print is marked at the base: “London, Published May 27th 1867 by Henry Graves & Co. the Proprietors, Publishers to H. M. the Queen and T. R. H. the Prince & Princefs of Wales: 6 Pall Mall. Copyright Registered. Fredrick Stacpoole (1813 – 19 December 1907 London) was a British engraver, who produced reproductions of some of the most popular paintings of the Victorian period. Most of Stacpoole's plates were executed in a mixed mezzotint style (i.e. mezzotint with some line engraving and stipple engraving). His work was only of reproductions, including a large number of prints after Briton Rivière (chiefly published by Messrs. Agnew), Thomas Faed (chiefly published by Messrs. H. Graves), and Charles Burton Barber. Thomas Faed (1826-1900) was a Scottish painter of great notoriety and talent. This large print is in very good condition. The paper measures 27” x 40” with the image being 17” x 27”. The print comes framed. Feel free to inquire about any other details concerning these items for sale.
