Description: An original vintage 1968 booklet or flyer: "Release Eldridge Cleaver: An appeal for letters demanding justice from the California Adult Authority" by Mrs. Kathleen Cleaver. Summarizes the August 6 attack where Cleaver was arrested and Bobby Hutton killed, then details the treatment that Cleaver received in custody. Contains a photo of the ruins of the house where "the clearly calculated attempt to liquidate the leadership of the Black Panther Party" took place. Also links Cleaver's arrest to work with Huey Newton's campaign. About 7" x 8 1/2", four pages. Excellent condition. Some wear on one corner as shown; a tanned stripe on the back page. Displays extremely well. An important piece of Black American and civil rights history, and an awesome addition to any collection.
