Description: This remarkable bracelet by world-renowned, award-winning Navajo artists Carl & Irene Clark is an exquisite example of the micro-mosaic/intarsia inlay that is the hallmark of their work. The detailed inlay consists of 4000-5000 stones of high-grade turquoise, lapis, shell and more, all meticulously cut and set by hand in tufa-cast sterling silver and 14kt gold. According to the artist, this bracelet was made in the mid to late 80's when he and Irene were making jewelry in this "wave" pattern for a gallery in Scottsdale, AZ. They did not make many, and what makes this work of art even more special is that they made very few hinged bracelets, making this a must-have for any collector of their work. It has been well cared for since its purchase from Americana Indian Shows in the 80's. The safety chain was added by Americana's master silversmith Arvid Anderson (d) at the time of purchase. The turquoise is a warm blue/green, and is beautifully accented with lapis and other stones. There is a very tiny chip in the largest section of inlay (see photos), but is not easily noticeable to the naked eye. It was only noticed when the pictures were taken in macro setting. The back of the piece is not adorned with any pattern (something the Clarks developed later on in their work). It is stamped with their hallmark, as well as the "sterling" and "14kt" marks and weighs in at a total of 94 grams. Two of the panels are 14kt gold, and a small strip of 14kt gold is overlayed onto the box clasp. This bracelet is not adjustable and cannot be sized. Details: -Size 6 5/8" when closed so it would fit a wrist up to 6 1/2", maximum. The wrist in the photo (the human one) is 6" and there is plenty of play without the bracelet being able to rotate around the wrist, which is ideal. To measure your wrist, use a flexible tape measure or piece of string and wrap completely (don't pull tight) around wrist bone; your size is where the ends meet up. -1" across at the center setting, and 3/4" across on the other two inlay sections and just over 1/8" deep -7/8" across on the two 14kt gold sections and apprx 1/16" deep -box clasp is 3/4"across and 1/4" deep Don't miss this opportunity to add this rare piece of work to yourCarl & Irene Clarkcollection!
