R J Reynolds Tobacco Vintage Sports Partnership NASCAR Cigarette RJR NFL HOF ‘93

Description: R J Reynolds Sports Partnership Guide, a folder originally presented to Les Richter (NASCAR head and Pro-Football Hall of famer. From his Wiki page: “was an American football linebacker who played for the Los Angeles Rams of National Football League (NFL). He also served as the head of operations for NASCAR … All-American for the California Golden Bears football team of the University of California. With the Rams, he played in eight Pro Bowls. He was inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1982 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011”). Most items dated on or around 1993. There is quite a bit of information on-line about RJR and their support of NASCAR. Packed with corporate propaganda including; letters from T Wayne Robertson (I think he had been a NASCAR driver), James W Johnston, and 2 letters from John T Kaestner (Anheuser Busch). Includes a survey (partly filled out), RJR Sports Partnership Dinner Attendees (a list of 3 pages), a ‘We Work For People’ booklet with 12 pages including covers, some kind of a sample product (might have been cigarettes or another tobacco product, this has bled to heavily stain much of the contents), several sheets on tax increase opposition, Support the Law booklet, several small sheets about cancer and kids (called Camel Palm Cards, LOL), legislative directory of 14 sheets – Washington and state capitols. 4 sheets from Anheuser Busch also included but they have been faded and most seem illegible (adding some minor heat might temporarily bring them back, but not sure) and a four-fold about ‘Smoking should not be a part of growing up’ (or growing old, or middle aged, or 20-something, I might add). Why are we asking so much? Maybe RJR will find this potentially embarrassing and want to reclaim it. Or, maybe some lawyer with a juicy, multi-million dollar lawsuit against RJR will find something in here important enough to share with the courts. Or maybe a NASCAR fan or NFL HOF collector will find some interest in this rare item.
