Description: Here is a colorful and zany Marx Krazy Kar, done up as a "Milton Berle Car", from the 1950's. Berle was a famous comedian and host of a popular TV show from 1948 through 1956, and this toy would have come out at the height of his popularity. Berle's show peaked at a 97 % Neilsen rating, and NBC signed him to a 30-year TV contract at an unprecedented $1 Million per year in 1951. Berle was so popular that It was one of a VERY small number of times that Marx made a toy of a LIVING individual (the sitting presidents over the years, the British Royal Family, and some Generals being the others that come to mind), and an even rarer occurrence as a lithographed windup toy! This particular example of the toy is complete, including intact and undamaged red cowboy hat (the hats are often broken). Unfortunately, when I would this up, nothing happened (I did carefully UNWIND it so as not to leave the spring fully wound) - perhaps the new owner can get it going again, as the windup mechanism does look complete and the spring unbroken. Photos from all 6 sides, plus more shots to show detail of Berle's taglines and sayings sprinkled around the car body. A great addition to someone's antique toy collection out there! Priced reasonably, with only actual USPS Ground Advantage or Priority Mail shipping cost charged to the winner!
