Description: The original bill of sale has been found 3/31/01 Picture yourself riding this vintage, not much used, supercool looking classic edition from the greatest bicycle makers on Earth. Think of the ride, the balance. Think of all the women you'll attract ! custom built to order, black and white 23" frame. the only Millennium frame to have been built with straight stays from records and photos, a Hetchins rep responded to my email request, positively confirming 1- the frame, 2-its number, 0101 - the first built in 01 - ( i, so far, have been unable to locate the bicycles…serial #? on the bike, it being in a difficult to access location - the bottom of the handlebar stem), 3- their / a / previous LI NY distributor that i did buy it through, and 4- kind assurance in the Old English way that they would do so (confirm and answer any questions) for anyone interested in buying it. BUY WITH COMPLETE CONFIDENCE. i was also encouraged and advised on its value / my asking price back in 2000 i paid $4000 + 100 for the pedal clips = $4,100 these are the very tires on it as when it was delivered to me back in 2001, and do need to be replaced: it has only ever been ridden as much as it took to wear them out, and simple time too likely played a role in their wear. It's just been sitting in my basement for a couple of years now as I don't have $ for a new set. i have two other bicycles that I actually tended to ride. I didnt even begin using this one for several years after I bought it, and only until after the tires wore out on both of the others . How time flies.. ....rides 531 Reynolds, Christoph pedal clips - Avocet leather saddle - Campi Chorus components. The handlebar is nice and wide for the best stability and control. I've seen others that are so short in length that your hands end up only being about six inches away from each other, thumb to thumb.Mavic MA3 rims ( the only component of the bicycle not made in England and France , but the USA ). Ive only ridden this bicycle so much as to have worn out the original tires it was built with in the 23 years I've had it. I had it custom built to order, this is the original paint job finish, i am the original owner, no one else has ever ridden it. It has never gotten wet, nope (I'd ride my Raleigh when there was any threat at all of precipitation)., and it has never spent a night outdoors. i really have only ever cruised around the suburban neighborhoods i've lived, trips to the post office or stores. i've never gone on extended rides. The chain, sprocket ,and derailer do need to be cleaned up, i may have to figure out how to do it properly myself. I did pay (plenty) to have those frame support lugs (that are) chromed (outlawed in the U.S. for many years , since before then), but stopped short of having the bottom most ones done so as to limit the potential of being knocked off and robbed of it. Even still, they too are just more art on the bike. the bicycle needs new tires that i cannot now afford to buy, and it does have a couple of scratches. I had it custom made over the course of about a year through Hetchins, then, LI, NY import distributor. I am the original owner. it has always been handled and cared for with love !. It is a head turner that invites compliments, but I need to pare down. i remember this original millennium model being limited to 16 casts back in 2000, and it is one of those., i think it was actually delivered in 2001 I prefer to meet prospective buyer to check out/deliver it in person - i can meet you in NJ / PA / NY. I am not going to travel 100 miles only to end up refunding payment - please be sure you do want it. except for a scratch or two, needing tires, and for the components to be cleaned up, there is nothing wrong with the bike. Flip Wilsons Geraldine said it best : what you see is what you get ! i did, though, apply a sliver of a black rubber insulator on the underside of the top crossbar (i never could have imagined myself selling it ) , between the top of the rear brake cable cover and bottom of the top bar because at the time I was shouldering it up and down a flight of stairs. Picture#13 shows this, what i did. It may or may not be detrimental to the paint there should you peel it off -
