Description: These 1960s era teaching aids appear to be rare or at least uncommon as there’s really nothing like them out there. You get 2 Encyclopedia Britannica “Historical Reconstructions of Ancient Greece” Study Prints Series No. 5670 & Series No. 6000. Series No. 5670 consists of Picture Map of the Roman Forum (all the cards are 18”x13” on heavy stock), Teacher’s Study Guide Card…Rome with suggestions for using the study prints and answers to study print questions. The 6 Study Prints themselves consist of Mylar overlays that show what the subject looked like upon completion then when lifted the view is of the “modern” ruins. You get “The Roman Forum: View A”, “ The Roman Forum: View B”, “The Circus Maximus”, “The Colosseum”, “The Basilica of Maxentius” and “The Mausoleum of Hadrian” all housed in a red vinyl sleeve. Series No. 6000 consists of Study Guide Card and 10 Study Prints. The Study Prints are “The Fortifications of Aegosthena”, “Corinth: The Agora”, “Aegina: The Temple of Aphaea”, “Delphi: The Temple of Apollo”, “Mycenae: The Treasury of Atreus”, “Knossos: The Palace of Minos”, “Delos” The House of Cleopatra”, “Athens: The Acropolis-General View”, “Athens: The Parthenon and Erechtheum” and “Athens: The Parthenon-Interior View”. These remind me of the acetate anatomy pages from the old encyclopedias themselves (always fascinated and creeped me out a little). As a final bonus you get Singer Educational & Training Products Society for Visual Education “Fire Safety Instruction” (also 18”x13” on heavy stock) with a great graphic of a firefighter ascending a ladder while towhead elementary schoolers look on (my dad was a firefighter in Barre, VT in the 60s I could be one of those towheaded boys). These teachers aids were high tech for the mid 60s and would really make “history come alive”. Other than pin holes in the corners of the study guides these are in amazing shape with bright colors and functional Mylar sheets. Please scrutinize the pictures to judge condition for yourself and thanks for stopping by.
