Description: Splendid, Rare& Never Worn Large 3" x 2.5" Vintage 1980s Signed Butler & Wilson Brooch / Pendant Gold with Purple Amethyst from original owner with original Butler & Wilson Selfridges box Extremely rare and beautiful Butler & Wilson large cross brooch with bale, in gold with gorgeous amethyst colored stones, all stones intact and a central purple and gold enamelled logo. I am the original owner and purchased this elegant piece from the Butler & Wilson concession in Selfridges, London in the late 1980s, it formed part of a larger personal B&W collection. I have never seen another like it. It is weighty, substantial (3" height, 2.5in width) and is signed on the reverse. It has never been worn and stored carefully inside its box in a smoke free home. It is in superb condition with few signs of age, though on close inspection I noticed some very minimal wear to the gold finish on the reverse in the circle, and more noticeably to the gold finish at the tip of the lower right corner of the cross, see photographs 16-17. Not bad for over 3 decades! Pin works perfectly, bale is secure. Box shows some wear. Please examine all photos for details.
