Description: 6 O.P.Co. Syracuse China Restaurant Platters G.C.C. 1927 Greenville or Brookside Country Club For your consideration, a set of (6) rare heavy restaurant ware oval platters by O.P.Co Syracuse China. I researched the "G.C.C. 1927" and came up with 2 possibilities: Greenville Country Club in North Carolina was renamed that name in 1927 and Brookside Country Club was founded as Brookside G.C.C (Golf and Country Club) in 1927 and their current logo has "Brookside" set within the same shield as seen in the Syracuse pieces. As Brookside is also in Ohio, my guess is these were made for that club but the buyer will have to decide for him/herself. Or just enjoy them for what they are as vintage restaurant ware! They are all in very good vintage condition and showing signs of normal age and use such as utensil scratches and some occasional darker marks. No chips or cracks or significant issues to note. The oval footings of these large platters are somewhat uneven so when they are placed on a solid surface like a counter or table there may be a little wobbling which may become more noticeable when cutting or putting pressure on the plates for example. This is fairly consistent across the pieces so it's some sort of a production issue, if that. I would recommend using a tablecloth and/or placemats underneath these to minimize the issue if it is a concern to you. They measure a hefty 13.5" long x 9.25" diameter and are quite heavy. They will weigh about 16 lbs packed safely. Local pickup in Boston area welcome. Thank you.
