Description: NEW OLD STOCK WESTON, WEST VIRGINIA 1978 Vintage Hand Blown Glass. Colonial Style Hurricane Globe WEST VIRGINIA GLASS. I found the case of these hurricane globes upstairs over the garage in my parent's house. My family had a gift shop for 50 years. Forgotten stock, I guess. Each globe is still in it's original box. Hand wrapped in the original vintage newspaper from West Virginia, dated April 2nd 1978. I will ship with the paper still wrapped around the globe. Of course I will check it for breakage... But the paper itself is fragile and it's part of the nostalgia of the whole thing, as I found it rather fun to see the newspapers from 1978 of the globes I did unwrap. The paper is brittle and did crumble so I won't unwrap them. I will just feel for defects. I believe all of the glass factories that were remaining in West Virginia, closed in 2007... or at least the last one closed in 2007, according to Google. Therefore, your globes will not appear to be clean when you unwrap them, as they have been wrapped up for 45 years... however, they do come clean. I will also set the West Virginia box with the original stamp into another box for shipping, as the box is also fragile. I think there are seven left, maybe more.
