1959 SADAHARU OH rookie card (1959 Hoshi Gangu) 868 homeruns!!!

Description: 1959 Sadaharu OH rookie---Hoshi Gangu JCM 24 card. All Japanese baseball menkos/cards prior to 1970 are scarce (compared to USA cards), especially cards of prominent Japanese players are rare as they're were usually handled, taped, pinned to wall, flipped, slapped & bent in games, glued to school albums, or written on, then discarded over time! This card escaped those ominous fate UNTOUCHED!!! Card condition is "secondary" with cards like these, BUT this card is in MINT condition, 4 sharp corners, no problems with this card other than centering and should grade PSA 9 oc in my opinion (please check scanned pics for your own condition opinion). The Hoshi Gangu type is the most popular rookie card of Sadaharu OH, it was the first rookie card type that was discovered & introduced to the collecting public in the early '90s. SADAHARU OH IS THE WORLD RECORD HOMERUN LEADER WITH 868 HOMERUNS! He played 22 years (1959 to 1980) all with the Tokyo Yomiuri Giants and holds almost every batting records category there is in Japan. Compared & known as the "Asian Babe Ruth", both lefties and both started out as pitchers. Although OH was a prominent pitcher in high school when signed out of high school, but Giants wanted him to play everyday and made him an outfielder/1st basemen due to his "mythical homerun moon shots" when he connected! He was booed and labeled as the "strikeout king" for the first 3 1/2 years until his famed "flamingo stance" to correct a glitch in his batting mechanics to become the "homerun king"! OH was a champion in high school, in professional career as Giants player, as a manager for the Hawks, and led Japan's national team to the first ever "World Baseball Classic" champion in 2006.
