Some of the contents include: origin and growth of Tokyo, municipal administration, catastrophe of 1923, reconstruction plan, reconstruction work, land readjustment, public undertakings and expenditure. Handsomely illustrated, with seven color maps (one is two-page), scores of black and white vintage photographic illustrations, plus one full color reproduction of a woodblock print by Hiroshige. Also one two-page color photograph of the city. Hardcover, 7.25x10.25 inches, 100 pages plus the plates. Many interesting photos of Tokyo and of the reconstruction, and the maps are lovely. Attractive gilt titles and designs on the front cover. Good/fair condition with discoloration to bottom corner of front, spine, and bottom corner of back cover (see photos). The two-page color photograph is starting to pull loose but still holding. Scarce.
