Description: 1930 circa BRASS ENCAPSULATED PEN. THE END IS NOT A SIMPLE PENCIL POINT. THE BACK IS A HOLLOW TUBE LIKE A PEN. I cannot tell if this is a ball point pen or a mechanical pencil for sure but it looks like pen. There is a hollow tube in the center of the hollow threaded end of the bullet shaped black pen / pencil point. I cannot turn the small pen point brass tip and don’t want to force it any more than thumb and finger pressure. The hollow casing looks brass / copper and the rounded dia. End with circular ring ridges in it looks brass also. There is a small hole in the center of the rounded end. This indicates to me that this is a pen requiring air to get into the back end of the tiny hollow tube for ink to flow out when writing. 2 7/8” long x ½” dia. USED: Tip of brass round case looks smushed and is dirty in the crevasses. This might have been a dig find with a metal detector 1973 – 2003. All these 1920 - 1940 - 1980 year items and hardware and parts were found in my uncle's attic.
